Since graduating 100 individuals this past August, the InTOuCH training program has been on recess focusing on other areas of interest. Things such as screening for glaucoma and depression are among other special projects that will soon take off in 2020.

On December 3rd, the Wellness Center welcomed 14 new individuals to be a part of Cohort 10, the newest class enrolled in the Community Health Worker training program. During the program, the class will be trained in all sorts of health and wellness related topics such as motivational interviewing, nutrition, counseling, cardiovascular diseases, and many more. The program spans 8 weeks long with the last 2 weeks dedicated to clinical skills training. At the end of the program, students are expected to know how to perform blood pressure screenings, A1C testing, BMI examinations, and counseling.
