Mariama Kora

Mariama Kora, MPH, is the Senior Program Administrator for the Institute for Training Outreach and Community Health (InTOuCH) at the Columbia Center for Community Health. Prior to joining the InTOuCH team, Mariama was the Deputy Regional Team Manager for the COVID-19 contact tracing initiative in Onondaga County.

Throughout this role, she worked closely with local health departments to track COVID cases and provide health education, but most importantly, to ensure exposed community members had access to resources while they were in isolation and/or quarantined. During the statewide lockdown, Mariama graduated with her Master of Public Health degree, from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, with a concentration in Data Analytics and Community Health. While working on her degree, she engaged in service learning and volunteer work with Syracuse’s refugee community and a local homeless shelter that served men and women who experienced substance abuse and mental health issues. In her free time, Mariama loves engaging in her favorite forms of self-care, traveling, and spending quality time outdoors with her family and friends.
